Specifications | We propose a full-day course (6 hours) that is interactive and engaging with the following objectives: - establish the basic background of current ML methods, - provide a highly interactive session by integrating breakout exercises (BE) with small groups that allow participants to discuss and develop various ML models. Short quiz format questions will be used to introduce a new topic. This gives the instructor an immediate sense of what the learners already know about the topic and allows the instructor to check the learners' memory of previous background information at the beginning. Another short quiz is designed to show learners what they have learned at the end of the session. This course will be held in two parts. The first part focuses on theoretical concepts, and the second part focuses on the practical application of specific laboratory data for clinical decision-making. The structure of the practice in BE is as follows: - All BE will be conducted in small groups. Each instructor will facilitate and supervise these learning groups during BE. - Participants are expected to bring a laptop with Windows or macOS and Chrome browser. - The web-based online platform “Colab Notebook” will be used for the exercises. - It is not necessary to install the appropriate software in advance. The course content is available immediately. - To facilitate code development, each participant will use "Colab Notebook" as a free environment that runs entirely in the cloud. |
